Dearest Friends,
In early September my son and I were involved in a really
terrible car accident. The person in the oncoming lane made a hard
left at full speed right into us. Miraculously, my son was FINE, which is
the most important piece of the story. I was incredibly lucky and blessed
to be able to walk out of the car, and I am still healing. The airbag
exploded and my torso was bruised. Still, one month later I am
dealing with lingering whiplash and fear when I get into a car. And I am
filled with gratitude – my son and I are alive and well. This experience was
awful, but also reminded me how precious every moment truly is.
Yesterday, October 9th, was my birthday. It was also Yom Kippur, the most
solemn, deep, holy day in the Jewish year. And that felt right somehow.
After nearly two years of deep personal and professional shifts and elevations,
I know I am where I am supposed to be. I am so grateful for my children, for my
husband, for life itself. I am awake and aware and whole. Thank God.
It is with these awarenesses in the forefront of my mind that I begin the New
Year. With great joy and thanks I am beginning the “Believe”
Tour!
Next week, on October 17th, during Sukkot, I will be travelling to LA to engage
in an evening
of conversation and song with Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson, one of my
most favorite people in the world. I feel blessed to be sharing my new
music in LA for the first time, and honored to collaborate with my teacher and
friend in the holy AJU community. Please see below for other appearances.
Friends, may the holidays continue to bring us clarity, joy, peace, protection,
gratitude and life. Our world and our children need it more than ever. And
we’re right here, ready for all that is to come.
With love, blessings and hope,
Neshama
